A box arrives like any parcel with shipping included. A pallet arrives on a semi truck and needs somewhere to put it. Choosing the wrong one is the most common difficulty new buyers run into.

Pallets ship by freight, and the cost is quoted to your address
Freight is calculated live at checkout rather than added as a flat markup. If you have no loading dock or forklift you will need liftgate service, which is the more expensive option and the one most addresses need. Boxes have none of this, and shipping is already in the price.
