What LTL freight means for your delivery
Pallets travel by LTL freight, which is a different service from parcel delivery and it catches out most first-time buyers. This page explains the whole sequence, what you need at your end, and what to do when the truck arrives.

Getting the pallet off the truck

Choose liftgate service
A liftgate is the powered platform that lowers a pallet from the truck bed to the ground. Choose it unless you have a loading dock and a forklift or pallet jack, because the driver cannot lift a pallet down by hand.
If you have a dock
Order without liftgate
This is the cheaper option and it is the right one if you can receive at dock height or move the pallet yourself. Moving it inside is the receiver's responsibility either way.

You are welcome to pick your order up or send your own carrier for it. Contact us before you order so we can set it up on your account and you are not charged for freight you will not use.

From checkout to your loading area
Here is the whole sequence in advance, from checkout to your loading area.

You place your order
Freight is quoted live against your address at checkout. Choose liftgate service unless you have a dock and a forklift or pallet jack.

We book the freight
Dispatch times are listed on each product page. Larger quantities can take longer to assemble and route, so contact us for current lead times before ordering in volume.

The carrier calls you
They telephone to book a delivery window, usually a day or two ahead. If they cannot reach you, storage charges can begin to accrue, so answer the call and keep the number they gave you.

The truck arrives
Check the wrap and the corners before you sign, and note any damage on the delivery receipt while the driver is still there. From the kerb the pallet is yours to move, so plan where it will go in advance.
Freight questions
How much will freight cost me?
It depends entirely on your address, and the quote at checkout is generated live rather than estimated. Liftgate service is the more expensive option and you need it unless you have a dock and a forklift or pallet jack.
Can I estimate freight before I order?
Yes. The shipping calculator gives you a figure against your own address before you commit to anything.
Does ordering several pallets cost several times as much to deliver?
No. Freight rises far more slowly than the number of pallets does. Most pallet orders are for several at once. Keep liftgate orders to six pallets or fewer.
What happens if I miss the carrier's call?
The delivery is held until they reach you, and storage charges can begin to accrue at that point. Those charges come from the carrier rather than from us.
What do I do if the pallet arrives damaged?
Note the damage on the delivery receipt before you sign, and call us on 609-303-3480 while the driver is still there. Photographs taken at the kerb are worth a great deal to a freight claim.
Do boxes ship by freight as well?
No. Boxes travel by ground as ordinary parcels with shipping included in the price, and they take about five business days. Nothing on this page applies to them.
